June 29, 2030. After the crazy week I had, Alejandra decided that I needed a getaway. So she invited me to come with her to St. Louis for Friday and Saturday to visit a few of her old friends from college.

The Discussion
June 26, 2030. Nobody had any idea just how big this would be. It felt like the entire town was there. There must have been about seven hundred people. It seemed like a concert, not a panel discussion. It really took some effort to walk past them all and go on stage.
Blueberries and Greens
June 24, 2030. In other news, Miami has been hit by another storm. It wasn’t as bad as Florence but it did cause a lot of problems. Maybe it was for the best though because now people are taking the idea that Miami is permanently underwater seriously.
Integral Ecology Initiative
June 22, 2030. What a busy weekend! I’ve started my part-time job canvassing for a green group called the Integral Ecology Initiative. They work out of an office at Gaia House. They’re not like any other nonprofit I’ve worked with before.
The New Miami
June 19, 2030. Miami is still underwater. When the storm surge receded, the water levels went down, and there are actually a few more spots above water than there used to be. But now it’s holding steady at a few feet in most places. And it’s not going to change anytime soon.
